Training

I am an orthopaedic surgeon with special interest in hip, knee and shoulder surgeries including sport medicine. I am trained both in India and UK for more than twenty years to learn and sharpen my diagnostics as well as operative skills. I completed my medical school from famous BJ Medical College in Pune, India which is one of the topmost old medical schools in India. Orthopaedics had always been my passion. After medical schooling, I managed to secure orthopaedic training post in government medical college and hospital in India which are known for excellent surgical training due to overwhelming number of patients. I completed my orthopaedic training from Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital at Nagpur, India. Immediately, after completion of training I cleared MPSC (Maharashtra Public Service Commission) exam with top rank and was one of youngest orthopaedic surgeon to be offered permanent service as Assistant Professor in MUHS (Maharashtra University of Health Sciences), Nashik under Government of Maharashtra. I worked as an Assistant professor for 2 years at various top medical institutes and reputed Government hospitals in state of Maharashtra India. I trained many orthopaedic trainees during that time as well as taught orthopaedics to undergraduate and post graduate students. However, quest of further learning and excellence dragged me to the UK (United Kingdom) to join MCH training at famous Wrightington Hospital which is a centre of excellence with home to Sir John Charnley where joint replacement originated.

I completed my three years of MCH training in Upper limb surgeries with special focus on shoulder and elbow surgeries. This was conducted by Edgehill university, Liverpool along with Wrightington hospital. While working in shoulder units I developed interest in sport medicine and joint injuries. Hence after completing formal MCH training, I continued working in hip, knee and shoulder units to learn and further sharpen my skills in treatment of ailments of these joints. Meanwhile I completed various qualifications including FRCS, FEBOT and postgraduate diploma in Computer assisted Total Knee replacements.

Overall, I have trained myself for many years to provide my patients with comprehensive care for all possible problems with hip, knee and shoulder joints as a one stop solution. I am able to offer you latest research-based treatment with all possible and available treatment options with minimal biases towards either as I have trained myself in all these surgeries equally. I have all surgeries as well as nonsurgical treatment options in my armamentarium for these joint problems.

My practice is strongly based on evidence-based medicine along with individualised approach towards each patient. I actively contribute towards academics as well as research in orthopaedics. I regularly teach on FRCS training courses. Also, I have helped to design questions for the FRCS exam. I have published many research papers and presented them in national and international podiums. I am very keen in teaching and training junior colleagues and keeping myself updated with latest guidelines to maintain good clinical practice.
